Climb Again Initiative
Sport Climbing Australia is commited to support the industry and facilities in their preparation for reopening and during the multiple stages of easing restrictions accross the country.
We have prepared a COVID safe plan template to be used by the climbing facilities and adapted as required depending on each individual situation and local restrictions.
On Friday 8 May 2020 we held a meeting with climbing facility managers from all around Australia. The aim of the call was to provide facility managers with updates from Sport Climbing Australia as well as discuss an action plan for facilities re opening in the context of Covid 19. This meeting was followed by another meeting on Friday 5th July to present the Covid Safe Template and study the Western Australia stage 2 easing of restriction.
The presentation and document preparation were led by SCA Chair Romain Thevenot and SCV Chair and member of the IFSC medical comission Philip Goebel. We also aknowledge the work from Naomi Cleary in preparing the documentation. We thank Damien Hall from Summit Climbing group for the presentation of the WA stage 2 from a facility operator perspective.
Please be advised that information from the government may have changed and each state and territory will be subject to their own regulations and timelines.
