Other Information

It will be winter, but Sydney enjoys a mild winter. Typical August weather is for cool over night temperatures, typically 8C. Mild Frosts can on occasion be expected over night, but the temperature will usually reach 18C during the day.

Sydney Olympic park has a railway station. Trains are a very convienient way to travel around Sydney. To plan your travel use the Trip Planner. The only exception to this is the Airport Link which charges an extra tariff, of about $10, for using the train. It maybe cheaper to hire a taxi, if there are a few of you.

Sydney Climbing Gyms

There are quite a few Climbing Gyms in the Sydney region. In Australia, indoor rock climbing is a recreation undertaken by novice climbers. The gyms are setup for top rope climbing, with some lead. It is advisable to check with the Gym as to the extent of the lead routes.
